Darien

Distance to Downtown Chicago
23 Miles

Average Drive Times
28 minutes to Chicago Loop
38 minutes to O’Hare Airport
25 minutes to Midway Airport

Incorporated in 1969, Darien continues to grow as a planned community. Along with a good balance of contemporary single family and multi-family housing, there is steady appreciation in home values. Convenient shopping, excellent schools, proximity to major transportation, and the opportunity for growth are all attributes of the area.

Transportation
Metra rail commuters can take the Burlington Northern line from the nearby Westmont station. Darien is just minutes away from four major transportation routes, including the North-South (I-355), Tri-State (I-294), and East-West (I-88) Tollways, and the Stevenson (I-55) Expressway.

Schools
Eight elementary, four junior high and two high schools serve the community. Alternatives include four parochial schools spanning 1st grade through high school.

Shopping
Oak Brook Center, Yorktown Mall, and downtown Downers Grove are just a short drive to the north. Some of the best malls for discount shopping, entertainment and dining are found along 75th Street in the center of town.

Recreation
The Darien Park District publishes a guide twice a year, detailing sports, recreational and personal interest programs made available to the community. Willowbrook Athletic Club and Indian Boundary YMCA provide an opportunity for year round fitness.
